The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix
The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will return home to the Streets of Downtown Detroit, June 2-4, 2023. The event will feature the cars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing in the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix, the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, INDY NXT by Firestone and the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli. The event is collectively referred to as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.

Zoe McGuire: Earthshine at The Library Street Collective
Zoe McGuire: Earthshine is on view from May 6th through June 24th, 2023 at Library Street Collective.
Library Street Collective is thrilled to announce Earthshine, Zoe McGuire’s first exhibition in Detroit, opening on May 6th, 2023. Inspired by nature, music, and mysticism, McGuire creates surreal landscapes that hum with a range of vibrant colors and nuanced tonal scales. For the exhibition, the artist will present a new series of paintings, including some of the largest she has created to date, that represent nature’s inherent spirituality and marvel at the evolution of human consciousness.

The DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) proudly presents the exhibition, James Barnor: Accra/London—A Retrospective, a comprehensive survey of the work of Ghanaian photographer James Barnor whose career spans more than six decades. A studio portraitist, photojournalist, and Black lifestyle photographer, Barnor was born in 1929 in the West African nation of Ghana. He established his famous Ever Young Studio in Accra in the early 1950s and devoted his early photography to documenting critical social and political changes that animated the nation on the cusp of independence from Britain.

Artful Healing Nights is a weekly session where we use healing arts to explore liberation. Through meditation, storytelling, art and gentle yoga poses. Each session focuses on a specific topic and focuses on one of these arts,while being guided through heart opening yoga flows. Chosen speakers are invited to share their stories anonymously and will be randomly selected if their story aligns with the topic of the week. All participants are encouraged to come with an open heart and a willingness to listen and share these completely transparent moments with our community.

An evening of exploring rage and how it impacts how we move through life! Join Earth and Ether for this incredible workshop as they provide you the opportunity to dive into one of the most suppressed and misunderstood emotions.
During this workshop, you will explore how our rage presents itself into our bodies, minds, and energy fields. We’ll move through a variety of practices that will help us explore rage, allow it to be seen, and practice healthy ways of integrating it.
