Why the Apparatus Room Belongs on Your Brunch List
Brunch at the Apparatus Room has always drawn a crowd that goes beyond hotel guests. For nearly a decade, it has been a destination in its own right for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks at the bar. The weekend brunch is where it earns a particular kind of loyalty.
The Detroit Free Press recently named Apparatus Room one of the 13 best brunch spots in Metro Detroit, with dining writers Lyndsay C. Green and Susan Selasky singling out the buttermilk pancakes, perfectly doughy and served with macerated berries and whipped butter, as some of the city’s best. For guests who lean savory, the smash burger is worth ordering at any hour: two patties with caramelized onions, American cheese, and tangy pickles.
The Apparatus Room sits inside Detroit Foundation Hotel at 250 W. Larned, in the heart of downtown Detroit. Weekend brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are recommended.
If you have not been in a while, or if you have never been, this is a good reason to make it happen.
