Le Salon at DFH – “The Business of Creativity” with Dion Walcott

Le Salon is Detroit’s new gathering for curious minds and spirited conversation. Each month, we invite local professors, artists, and community leaders to share fresh perspectives in a relaxed, after-hours setting in our new Borgman Room just off of the Apparatus Room.

Arrive early, grab a cocktail (or your drink of choice), and settle in for a 35–40 minute talk that’s as thought-provoking as it is approachable. Whether you’re a regular or just dropping by, Le Salon is your place to connect, unwind, and discover something new—no tickets, no pressure, just great ideas and good company.

About the Lecturer:

Dion Walcott is the Founder of MARTKD, a partnership agency focused on celebrating creatives and bridging communities through activations, resources, and collaborations. He also serves as a Partnerships consultant for Pensole Lewis College (PLC) School of Design & Business.

Dion continues to empower creative communities by providing access to education, experiences, and career opportunities. Through MARTKD, he forges connections between brands and artists, merging corporate and cultural worlds. A dynamic speaker, strategist, and curator, Dion has collaborated with major brands like Reebok, Puma, the NBA, and Microsoft. His ethos centers on achieving success while fostering social good, standing by the belief that “You can do well and good at the same time.”
